Gossip - Standing in the Way of Control
In general, I'm not too keen on re-releases, but in this case if it means even a handful of people who missed it first time around get to be blown away by the righteous force of this storming slice of furious punk, then it was worth it.
Bat For Lashes - Prescilla
A fresh slice of folk tinged oddness from Natasha Khan, and with the added bonus of a video shot in the original batcave! Holy kaftan Batman!
The Rakes are back with another cut of clipped South London street punk, albeit a little more polished and buffed around the edges (judging by the video they also seem to have been taken on a tour around Topman with their record label) - minor quibbles aside though, it's a predictably strong return and promises much for their forthcoming second album.
Back to their original three piece format, Ash return for what must be somthing like their 117th album with a familiarly stomping US-tinged three and a half minutes of punk-pop. Plus ca change.

Sharing the love as always, Brakes and their fans star in the live action video for my favourite track from their excellent 'Beatific Visions' album, a ranting slab of borderline insane riffage. Ace.
