Slow Light is a curious little record. It hints at a plethora of artists including Bright Eyes, War Against Sleep, Smog and Micah P Hinson, and yet veers away from actually stealing any of their style. To this it adds some indie sensibilities, though it doesn’t seem to create its own sound from any of this. But even in spite of this, the album remains endearing and inviting, something rare that you would actually seek out to listen to. A little bit of comfort, perfect for those times when you feel like giving up. Let it stay with you and cradle you, take refuge in its soothing charm. Review
