Taken from one of Maps' favourite albums of last year, 'Manchasm' sees Future of the Left adding jarring keyboard stabs to the familiar fuzzed up bass, ear pounding drums and half shouted witticisms that made 'Curses' such a visceral treat. |

After a below par third album and an extended break, Ladytron are due to release new album 'Velocifero' in June, and from what we've heard so far, things are looking up. 'Black Cat', a sneak preview from the forthcoming album, has all the smooth basslines, mechanical beats and velveteen vocals that we've come to expect from the Liverpudlian 4-piece at their best. |

It's loud, it's brash, it's simple, it's messy, and it's exactly what US teen punks Be Your Own Pet do best. Fast, fun and as addictive as blue Smarties before they took all the mind-altering chemicals out of them. |

When Grandaddy split up a year or two back, the US lo-fi scene lost one of its most intriguing, rambling, brilliant talents. 'Just Like the Fambly Cat' was a fitting epitaph for Jason Lyttle and his band of softly spoken technophobes, and lucky for us, there was more where that came from, in the form of these lovingly crafted demos from the album sessions. The tracks are being offered up for free, but the kind-hearted amongst you are asked to make a small donation to the Emmett O'Loughlin Fund, so you can enjoy some great music, and do some good at the same time!
