Music Tourist Board are a loose collective of promoters, venues, lables, bands and zines (including us from time to time!), who put on gigs and festivals, put out records, and generally just help each other out and promote good music. Having emerged from New Cross a few years back, MTB now casts its net far and wide, with shows all over London and beyond. One of the bands to have made a lasting impression at MTB nights this year are Blah Blah Blah, whose lyrical dexterity and onstage charm have won over the hearts of many this year. Check out this live video of festive fave 'Christmas Caravan'. Ploughing an entirely different, but no less impressive furrow, Seeing Scarlet's synth fuelled indie rock sound would not be out of place amongst the leviathans of the genre. See for yourself with the video for 'We Will All Be Aliens'. And last but not least, Guardians of the Ancient Wisdom are that rarest of things, a band that manage to weave threads of hip-hop and guitar music without making you want to throw your stereo through the window. Have a listen to 'No Mountain' and judge for yourself. |
