The demise of Top of the Pops was a sad day for many reasons (though truth be told not half as sad as the sorry mess the programme had become in the months leading up to its death), none more so than the fact that Art Brut will now never get to fulfill their dream of playing live on the show. "Art Brut, The ITV Album Chart Show" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
