Leaving Home
Maps speaks to bands that have flown the nest for their music

The UK, and London in particular, has long been one of the centres of the rock & roll world, attracting bands from all over the globe, but what exactly is it that draws so many artists to the city? And are the streets really paved with musical gold? Maps spoke to a selection of bands and musicians from all four corners of the earth who have made the move to the UK to find out:

John & Jehn (from France)
Piney Gir (from USA)
Joana & The Wolf (from Lithuania)
The Priscillas (from USA & Norway)
Aurora Sommer - Ataraxy (from New Caledonia via France)

Mariko Doi - Levelload (from Japan)
The Outside Royalty (from USA)

But the UK isn't everybody's cup of tea, and for all of the bands streaming into the country to make thier names & find their fortunes, there are plenty more heading in the opposite direction. Maps caught up with some of them to find out why:

Scout Niblett (to USA)
Chris Chinchilla - Macaca Mulatta (to Australia)
The Sailplanes (to Germany)
Co-Pilgrim (to Australia)
