All of which is a perfect warm up for the arrival of Thomas Truax. Not that anything could truly ready us for the brilliant madness about to ensue.

Emerging into a pitch-black venue, the only illumination a miners helmet light, which swoops around the venue in a disorientating manner befitting the eccentric musical treats emerging from the darkness, it takes a while before anyone is quite sure what to make of what is unfolding before their eyes and ears. Once the shock factor has dissapated though, there's not a face in the venue that doesn't have a wide, beaming smile plastered across it as Truax and his home-made menagerie of band-mates (which today include Sister Spinster, Stringaling and The Hornicator) spin their beguiling stories. It's over all too soon, leaving us bewildered and entertained in equal measure.

Here's to another two years, and many more to come.
