2007 according to...
The Violets

The high point of 2007 for our band was recording and releasing our debut album 'The Lost Pages'. We wanted to make a record that built on the kenetic guitar energy of our singles and colour it in shades, adding cold synth's, samples, bass sounds and electronics to our live drums/Guitar/Vocals set-up. The 11 tracks on the album show sides to the band we hadn't had the opportunity to reveal before - from the upbeat guitar pop of 'Shade To Be' through to the minimal electro pulses of 'Co-Plax'. We are very proud to have made this record.

In February we toured with Indie heroes The Gossip, playing to a sold out Astoria in the process. It was inspiring to tour with Beth, Nathan and Hannah, they reminded of everything that is good about underground culture. The proved that substantial music and punk ideals can still mean something in an age where bands seem to be content to play it safe.

One of our favourite gigs of 2007 was in Amersterdam where, thanks to a missed flight earlier in the day, we accidentally headlined the London Calling Festival at the Paradiso. We loved playing in Europe - In 2007 we visited Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Ireland.

The music we listened to as a band in 2007 included - Nirvana, The Gun Club, Pylon and Bad Brains. We soundtracked our German tour at the end of 2007 with Mix CD's of amazing German bands like DAF,Trio and Malaria. Joe loved Palais Schaumburg, Alix loved Autonervous and I will never forget Minor Threat.

Our favourite new bands of 2007 were Ipso Facto and Sixteens.

We are planning a return to Europe in 2008, and more touring in the UK. We will also start work on our second album.
